BOARD OF SELECTMEN MEETING
Monday, March 12, 2007
The Regular meeting of the Board of Selectmen was held at 6:00 p.m. in the Sharon High School Auditorium with Chair William A. Heitin, Selectman Walter Joe Roach, Selectman Richard A. Powell, Town Counsel Richard Gelerman, and Town Administrator Benjamin E. Puritz.
The meeting was called to order at 6:15 p.m.
Consider approval of Amended Memorandum of Understanding regarding the South Main Street project
VOTED: (Heitin/Roach) Voted unanimously to approve the wording in the South Main Street Memorandum of Understanding as it relates to, “the planning development, inspections, review of compliance with all state and local health regulations regarding the anticipates restaurants, other food service facilities, supermarkets, as well as the Board of Health’s involvement with the Site Plan review for any Application by the Developer to the Zoning Board of Appeals pursuant to Business District “D”. In addition: “Local Initiative Program: The Parties agree that a portion of the site not being used for the project and not being gifted to the Town may in the future contain a component comprised of Residential development. Such project would be for a maximum of 168 apartments and /or condominiums of no more than 2 bedrooms each that will qualify for a LIP. The Residential Project will contribute to the overall stock of affordable housing in the Town of Sharon. Accordingly, The Developer agrees to cooperate with the Board of Selectmen in the LIP process. This section shall be binding only on a Developer party proposing residential development.”
Consider approval of abandonment of easement on Old Post Road
Town Counsel Gelerman advised the Board that the easement on Old Post Road is no longer necessary and recommended the abandonment of the easement.
VOTED: (Heitin/Powell) Voted unanimously to abandon the easement on Old Post Road.
VOTED: (Roach/Powell) Voted unanimously to Adjourn to attend the Special Town Meeting to be held at 7:00 p.m. in the Sharon High School Auditorium.
The Board of Selectmen adjourned at 6:20pm.
